Share3D is committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our users.

We do not collect personal information about you when you visit the site unless you choose to provide that information to us, for example by registering or by using the Contact Us email form. If you chose to send us information it will be used for the purpose described or to answer your query/comment. We will pass your details onto another agency only if required to by law or that agency is relevant to your enquiry. We do not collect your information for commercial purposes.

As part of the Share3D registration process for our e-newsletter, we collect personal information.

We use that information for a couple of reasons:

  • to keep you informed about news and events related to the project;
  • to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We don’t rent or trade email lists with any other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.

Any personal details received using the Share3D online contact form will be deleted upon satisfactory completion of the enquiry, unless otherwise agreed.

You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that we hold. Email your request to us using the contact form.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

However, some information is collected and stored automatically when you visit the site. This information does not identify you personally and includes:

  • The Internet Domain and IP address from which you access the site
  • The type of browser and operating system used to access the site
  • The date and time of your visit
  • The pages you visit
  • The address of the website you linked to Share3D from (where appropriate)
    and also the address of any website you visit directly from a link on Share3D.

We also collect information on the number of times particular search terms are used and the number of failed searches.

We use this information to improve access to the site, monitor our usage rates and identify gaps in the content so that we can improve the site.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment.

Who we share your data with

You are responsible if you wish to share images, models you want. We don’t perform such action.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained as long as this web page is active. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to erase any personal data of you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
